If paying your mortgage and car note is putting pressure on your wallet, you aren't alone. A record number of cars are being repossessed, just another sign of a sagging economy.
Car repossessions are at their highest rates in more than 20 years.
Donnie Rector has been repossessing automobiles for three decades and these days he said, he's picking up at least 100 vehicles a week, a ten percent increase from just a year ago

ORANGE COUNTY, Florida. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) --Repossessions are up at least 15 percent across the nation and Central Florida is no exception.
1.5 million repos happened across the country last year. Those who fear the sound of that tow truck rolling up to your house in the middle of the night, should be worried.

Sheriff's deputies were called Saturday after a fight occurred when a man tried to reposes another man's car.
A 40-year-old Port Orchard man came to a house along the 4200 block of Dyes Inlet Road on Saturday shortly after 11 a.m. to repossess an 18-year-old Bremerton man's car. The 40-year-old told deputies the 18-year-old became confrontational with him, called him racial slurs and tried to punch him.
